Baška Voda is located about ten miles northwest of Makarska. This place is famous for its long pebble beaches and crystal clear water. In Baška Voda is the baroque church of St. Lovre (built in 1750), fitting a number of medieval grave stones and the parish church of St. Nicholas, built in 1889.About Baška Voda, on the slopes of the mountains are the places biokovo Bast and Topići, under typical mountain villages with ancient stone houses.The town of Makarska, with ist 15 000 inhabitans is a cultural, economic and tourist center of the Makarska Riviera.It originated from a village Makra which was already mentioned in 553 – the present name Makarska wears since 16th Century. The Malacological Museum of the Franciscan monastery in Makarska, with its attractive collection of marine snails and shellfish, belongs to the largest collection of this species.

In the western part of the Makarska Riviera, one kilometer south of Baška Voda and eight kilometers from Makarska, in a dense pine forest and close to the see Camp Baško Polje is located. This part of the Adriatic Coast is one of the sunniest areas of the Mediterranean, with over 2700 hours of sunshine annually.

The camp includes 738 plots and 17 bungalows of which 10 of them are equipped with four-bed rooms and 7 twin rooms.
In the central restaurant of hotel Alem, camping guests can order meals. During summer months at the guests service there is a beach restaurant where an “A la carte“ ordering is possible. Evenings guests can spend on the hotel terrace in pleasant live music. As part of the holiday resort there is a small grocery shop, fresh fruit and vegetable stands as well as a bakery.
The resort guests have the opportunity to play basketball and volleyball, soccer and try out their skills in skittle.
Parking is located around the hotel and is available to our guests free of charge.

The long pebble beaches and beautiful bays of the Makarska Riviera invite for swimming and sunbathing, lying on the beach.  A variety of dining is offered to enjoy Dalmatian Delights.

Through mountain hikes can be reached at 1762 m high altitude peaks of St. Jure. Half an hour’s drive away is the river Cetina, just made for lovers of nature and adventure. Lots of agencies offer rafting trips, one of the most exciting way to get to know this beautiful river and the rock Biokovo.  In the organization of agencies, daily excursions are offered like there is to Dalmatian cities, Šibenik, Trogir, Split and Dubrovnik or Krka waterfalls, one of Croatia’s National parks . Also offered are boat trips to nearby islands of Brač, Hvar, Korčula and Mljet as well as pilgrimages to famous Međugorje.
